Unbeatable offer
BUY ONE GET ONE FREE WITH RAZZAMATAZ THEATRE SCHOOLS
Razzamataz, the part-time theatre school, is offering a franchise deal that will put its competitors in the shade.
The offer of two franchises for the price of one is an unbeatable offer, as Denise Hutton-Gosney, director of Razzamataz, explains: “For one franchise fee you receive the main Razzamataz school for children age 6-18 and also Razzamataz Minis for 4-6-year-olds.
“Many of our competitors will charge you for each separate school, but we want to give our principals the maximum opportunity to gain the best financial rewards. We also feel this gives a much better overall service to the children and parents at Razzamataz schools.’
SUPPORT
In addition, there will be no fee to pay for a second Razzamataz within the same territory as your first Razzamataz school. Says Hutton-Gosney. “We want to support our principals in every way possible and feel that by offering them a second Razzamataz school within the same territory they can make the most out of this incredible business opportunity.’
Razzamataz is one of the fastest growing theatre schools in the UK. It first came to prominence in 2007 when Hutton-Gosney appeared on BBC’s Dragons’Den and impressed Duncan Bannatyne, who offered her the full investment she was asking for.
There are now more than 40 part-time RazzamatazTheatre Schools throughout the UK, all successfully following the franchise formulae that Hutton-Gosney and Bannatyne have created.
The company has recently launched two new products - Razz Tots and Razz Act - with a lower entry fee. RazzTots is for pre-school children, while Razz Act is for those wishing to train in purely drama and movement skills.
Razzamataz has extended its exclusive finance package for 2011, and if you decide to take the next step the Razzamataz team provides a fully comprehensive training week that covers how to find the most dynamic teachers, first aid training, health and safety issues, child protection, PR and marketing, and customer service.

Razzamataz Theatre Schools celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2010. John Bensalhia finds out what’s in store from founder Denise Gosney
The golden decade is nearly upon Razzamataz Theatre Schools, as it celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2010. Founder and director, Denise Gosney, says that there are special events planned to mark the anniversary.
"We are holding a number of important events for our 10th anniversary, one of which is a series of Franchise Discovery Days," says Denise. "We will be conducting a series of roadshows which will be held throughout the country. They will be an opportunity to meet myself, learn from the ‘Dragon’, meet franchisees and find out all about the business."
There will also be a special celebration at Her Majesty’s Theatre on November 28, and it’s hoped that Duncan Bannatyne will attend (after Razzamataz appeared on Dragon’s Den) and that the BBC will film a follow-up documentary.
Special offer
New franchisees can take advantage of a special offer with regards to paying for the franchise. "We are offering a finance agreement as a special deal," explains Denise.
“Because it is getting harder to approach the banks in these times of recession, we will offer to finance the business, which can then be paid back in instalments.“With an even higher profile, Razzamataz provides excellent opportunities.
From the outset, franchisees will learn everything required for the business at the week-long training course. Consultants will tutor franchisees on all aspects of the business, including CRB checks, health and safety, PR and marketing, accounts and bookkeeping, and current legislation. Support is also available from Denise, head office and regional support teams.
Denise (a franchisee herself) says that 2009 was a strong year with plenty of business. "The franchise is certainly well established in my area," she explains. "And I think that’s because the last thing that parents want is to give up their children’s activities rather than their own. The advantage of Razzamataz is that it is the cheaper alternative to its leading competitor. We were voted in The Stage newspaper in the Top 5 Stage Schools for quality and affordability."
And with great optimism for 2010, the Razzamataz Theatre Schools success story is set to continue.
